Target and Kate Young Collection

(Photo Courtesy: Tim Howard Management) Every time Target launches a new collection with an established or upcoming designer, I'm almost always there for the first day of its debut (and I say almost, only because my work hours don't permit me to be there for say, Duro Olowu's debut collection, at 9am in the morning). There are several reasons why I am a fan of Target's collaborations:

1) The collaboration showcases the work of featured upcoming designers, whom many people would not regularly have access to purchase.

2) Speaking of access, the collaboration provides monetary access to purchase goods from your favorite designers in high-fashion - for instance, a Rodarte piece for the Neiman Marcus x Target Holiday collection? I would have never been able to afford a Rodarte piece in reality (unless I saved specifically for the occasion), but when Target announced a 70% off the Neiman Marcus collection, I scooped up what was left of the racks, including a highly coveted Rodarte number.

3) I go to Target almost every week for household goods, food and even their in-house Starbucks Chai Latte - truth is, Target is my one-stop shop for everything - walking into a store that can also provide me with pieces from my favorite high-end designers while shopping for almond butter? Plus, in my book.

And so their collaboration continues - with one of the fashion industry's most creative celebrity stylists, Kate Young. Kate has earned an influential spot in the fashion industry, beginning her career with Vogue magazine and eventually becoming one of the most sought-after stylists in the industry. Not a stranger to Target, Kate has been styling for Target for a number of its campaigns, including the Jason Wu for Target campaign.

True to her sense of style, Trish Adams, Senior VP of Apparel and Accessories at Target, describes her collection as "perfectly translating Kate’s edgy, yet sophisticated sense of style, allowing Target’s guests to create their own memorable fashion moments, all at affordable prices".  Her modern and versatile style is both trendy and classic, sophisticated and modern, and her collection includes special occasion dresses as well as mixed separates, priced from $29.99 to $89.99.

This limited-edition collection will debut on April 14th, 2013 in all Target stores and on Make sure you check this highly coveted collection!
