Neiman Marcus Fashion Event

This past Saturday I had the pleasure of attending a fashion brunch at Neiman Marcus hosted by Dana Prigge of At the event we chatted Spring fashion trends and enjoyed the most delicious cupcakes from Magnolia Bakery. Some of the trends Dana told us to keep an eye out were leather cut-out details, sorbet colors, lace and black and white color blocking. The days have remained cold, but splashes of color all over the Neiman Marcus displays reminded us all that Spring is here. My favorite items displayed were the Balenciaga lavender bag and Alexander McQueen cat-eye shades. It’s vibrant and different pieces like those that can complete an outfit.

After the fashion talk Dana told us about her story and what she does everyday. She passed along some advice that had been shared with her and I wanted to pass it along to all of you as well. Dana said, “The key to being successful is to dress alluring, but don’t over do it. You still want to be taken seriously”.

As women it’s so important to find that balance between being stylish yet remaining appropriate in the work place. The times have changed when it comes to fashion in the work place. A power suit isn't the only choice we have when it comes to interviews and it’s ok to incorporate colors other than black and navy. Today we can wear printed dresses, blazers, cardigans and pops of accessories to work while still remaining professional. The days of drab are long gone.

The event was beautiful, informative and all guests walked away with a beautiful clutch filled with goodies!
