Whenever I get rude or hateful comments on Instagram or my YouTube channel it always stops me in my tracks. My first instinct is to respond to every single comment in order to defend myself and set those naysayers right. After really pondering the dilemma I simply ignore the hate. The comments that bother me the most are the one's rudely made about my appearance and not for the obvious reasons. Yes, they're hurtful, but what really bothers me is that I can't believe there are people out there that could be so heartless. I can take the criticism and let it roll off my back, but I know that there are other girls out there who take mean words to heart and can't deal with it as easily -- and that's what bothers me.
I connect with girls suffering from low-self esteem. I feel an overwhelming amount of empathy towards them and that's why I feel so strongly about nasty comments I see on my social media outlets and those of others. Wether you're putting yourself out there or not, online, the greatest lesson you can learn today is to ignore that kind of negativity.
I came across a quote that couldn't be any truer, "Whoever is trying to bring you down, is already below you." See, girls that go out of their way to be nasty and to point out your flaws, are the ones dealing with insecurities of their own. For some twisted reason, bringing others down lifts them up.
So please, the next time you feel the need to say something rude online, stop and think about how it could affect this person. Think about what could be making you feel so insecure that you feel the need to point out someone else's flaws. And, no, just because you say, "I'm not trying to be mean, but..." doesn't make the comment any less hurtful. Lastly, think about the people who commit suicide everyday because of rude comments like the ones you're making.
You are all beautiful in more than one way and I love you dolls♡
