How to Safely Wash Your Hair Daily
Even though I've cut back on washing my hair daily sometimes I still can't help myself and I'll wash it two days in a row. It might seem harmless to this, because after all aren't we just cleaning our hair? But shampoos actually contain harsh chemicals that strip the hair of its natural oils. Those oils are needed to keep it moisturized and damage free. When you wash it daily it might appear clean, but you're also contributing to split ends and frizz.
Dry shampoos are great. They don't leave hair looking like you just stepped outside of the salon, but it keeps your scalp from looking overly oily. Batiste is my go-to dry shampoo. Check it out here. If you insist on washing it daily then do it safely.
By using a clarifying shampoo you'll still get away with washing your hair daily without causing it so much trauma. Clarifying shampoos remove dirt from the scalp without stripping it of all the natural oils. It might leave you hair feeling a little dry so use a good conditioner afterwards. Some clarifying shampoos are stronger than others, should only be used weekly or bi-weekly. If your goal is to use it daily make sure it says so on the bottle. My favorite right now is Suave's Daily Clarifying Shampoo ($2 Not every product that works has to cost a ton of money), and there's even a matching clarifying conditioner. The accompanying conditioner is great, because it adds moisture without wearing the hair down.
