What interested you into getting into the beauty industry?

I kind of got into the beauty industry by accident I guess. It was a god given talent and I kind of just fell into it because I knew how to do hair and I was just good at it.

What has been one of the toughest obstacles in your career and how did you overcome it?

One of the toughest obstacles of my career was turning a hustle into an actual business. As far as how I overcame it; it was just about doing everything by the book such as: having a lawyer, book keepers and stuff like that. Because when I originally started selling hair I was doing it just as extra cash.

When it comes to hair extensions what type/method do you recommend the most and why?

My favorite new method now is a full sew in with a closure. This method allows the clients hair to be fully protected but it can also look very natural because you can add the parts inside the closure. So I would say right now my favorite style and method is the sew in with a closure technique.

You refer to yourself as a ‘Snob’ what does that mean to you?

A snob is just a confident women. It's like your alter ego, its like the girl you look into the mirror and say 'I can do it'. Your yes woman. Your confidence, your ego, your everything!

What are some hair products you couldn’t live without?

Some hair products that I couldn't live without would probably be my Sebastian shapers, my Sebastian heat protectant and my new products that are coming out later this year.

What do you love most about your job?

What I love most about my job is that I can make my clients that sit in my chair feel amazing. I also love that I can motivate people not to give up on their dreams because people see my dreams come into fruition.

Who have been some of your favorite people you’ve worked with?

My favorite people that I have worked with to date right now has to be my current staff. I just recently opened up a salon in June and I've been blessed with an amazing staff! Erin, Raye, Meagan, Ashley, Shaunell, Asi, Lala, and just everyone that works at Snob Life Studios.

Any upcoming projects you’re working on or something you hope to achieve in the coming years?

My upcoming projects that I'm working on include my hair product line that I finished and will be releasing. I have a flat-iron line that is coming out that I'm working on. In fact, the first part of the flat-iron line is Swarovski crystal covered flat irons that I'm going to push this holiday season. I'm also working on becoming a motivation speaker and a brand manager.

What advice can you offer girls trying to make it in the beauty industry or simply trying to create their own business?

I just say don't take no for an answer. When I first went to look for jobs in the beauty industry I was turned down by 42 salons before I actually got hired or got a yes. So I say that to say don't let one no defer you from your dreams, because all you need is one yes to make all of your dreams come true.

What is your definition of beauty?

My definition of beauty is beautiful inside and out.
