Fall Lipstick Trends
Over on the East coast, the weather has been changing as swiftly as the Fall leaves. There was Hurricane Sandy, the Nor’ Easter that resulted in a winter wonderland in the middle of November, and then shortly after 60 degree weather. Who knows what Mother Nature has in store for the rest of the autumn season? However, though our dress attire has undergone drastic altercations there’s no reason our makeup plans need to fall to the wayside.
One word going around this season in makeup trends is the word ‘vamp.’ Alluding to all things dark, sensual, and seductive, these colors – like Oxblood/Dark Cherry – are sitting comfortably in the top seasonal trends shelf. These lascivious deep reds and purples are perfect shades for fall nights out when you want to unearth a darker side (makeup-wise at least). A brighter option for nights would be a striking glossy Raspberry color, still giving off an alluring aura.
Though these darker hues are flawless for Fall nights, they’re not quite right for the day. For the days/early evenings I recommend more neutral toned colors of corals and dark nudes. Of course when in doubt you can’t go wrong with a classic red pout that works for both day and night. To tone down the look go for a glossier crimson shade. In the night go wild – whether it be glossy, creamy, or matte.
