Crop Tops Shopping Guide

Spring/Summer 2013 brings about a number of warm weather trends, including the sheer maxi skirt/dress, sky-high wedges and the newest one, the crop top. Thoughts of flashbacks to the 80's, when the infamous crop top was paired with sneakers, sweatpants and a side ponytail. While this flashback may not seem to be the most appealing, this season's crop tops are more fitted, complete with all colors and prints to your liking. Additionally, you may find its versatility to be the most appealing - paired with high-waisted shorts, skirts or pants, crop tops can add a slimming effect. Check out below for some of our favorite crop tops:

For a sweeter take on the crop top, pair your favorite bottom with a white, lace crop. You can pair with a loose tunic-type top or if you're a rebel type, you can pair with a more fitted lace crop top. Soften a full leather skirt by pairing with a white crop top - add cut outs for a rocker chic look!

Crop tops can be playful and fun with your favorite set of prints! Floral prints add a sweet touch to a high-waisted skirt, polka dots add a retro feel when paired with a high-waisted short and striped crop tops (like the one above) can be worn over a bathing suit top.

Living on the Edge

If a crop top isn't daring enough, try leather bustiers, lace cut outs and gold beading with another bold piece. At the risk of looking too risqué, be sure to balance the right crop top with the right bottom. A simple leather skirt balances out a more bold crop top, while a dark leather bustier may pair well with a mint maxi skirt. Living on the edge does not mean baring it all - it means keeping it mysterious - at all times!
