Designers have given winter white a new meaning. Designers such as Derek Lam, Peter Som, J.Mendel, The Row, and Alexander Wang have all incorporated their own personal touch to the term winter white into their fall 2012 ready to wear collections. They have played with different silhouettes, proportions, and fabrics to create the perfect monochromatic and crisp look for this season. Derek Lam for example combined an off white chunky cable knit sleeveless sweater over a fluid white evening gown and the New York native, Lyn Devon, paired a fuzzy luminous white sweater with a sleek and crisp structured full length skirt.

This happens to be one of my favorite trends this season because the monochromatic tone forces you to express yourself in more ways than you could have if you wore an outfit full of color. You could be more adventurous with make-up such as wearing bright and bold colored lipstick or intense high-pigmented eye shadows. For those women who are addicted to over accessorizing, such as wearing one to many bangles or rings then you should definitely make it a priority to channel your inner snow princess this season.
